Controllers

Location: Across London

Bus service management is a career like no other and we are seeking controllers to manage our services in some of the most challenging operating conditions within the Transport for London (TfL) bus network. Whilst the work can be both testing and demanding, it is also immensely rewarding.

Successful applicants will be part of a unique and highly skilled team of professionals, who ensure that our bus services keep London moving safely, efficiently and on time.

Controllers are the beating heart of our 24 hour operation, working in shifts to communicate with drivers by radio, whilst using various technologies, including GPS tracking, at their workstation. Our controllers come from all kinds of backgrounds but share the same critical traits such as:

  • Demonstrating great aptitude and a good attitude.
  • Thinking on their feet, balancing the demands of providing a great service whilst always maintaining safety, which is our primary concern.

We are therefore looking for individuals with the following attributes:

  • Maturity, dedication and common sense.
  • The drive to make the most of a comprehensive training programme and carve out a successful and rewarding career within our route performance team.

Selection Process:

The selection process will be assessment and interview based. There will also be some upfront online tests to complete.

Successful applicants will initially be placed on a training course. On attaining the required standard, any appointment made will carry a probationary period.
