Arriva’s Heritage Fleet bus assists award winning Chef Tom Kerridge to switch on Marlow’s Christmas Lights
One of the great things about this time of year for Arriva’s Heritage Fleet, is all the exciting and fun celebrations they get involved with.
Last week was the Lord Mayor’s Show and this week it’s helping double Michelin Star Chef Tom Kerridge, switch on the Christmas lights for Marlow Town Council, by supplying them with their open top iconic Red Routemaster bus.
If you want everyone to see the Celebrity you’ve chosen to start the festive celebrations, then what better way than an open topper.
Marlow Town Council reserved a space for the bus in the centre of their beautiful Georgian main street, and invited Tom a local resident and owner of the famous Hand and Flowers gastropub to switch on the lights.
Tom along with his wife Beth, opened The Hand and Flowers in 2005 and within a year had won his first Michelin star. Two years ago he made it a double – becoming the first pub to have ever been awarded two stars.
Judging by his reception, Tom is a very popular local and as he said before switching on the lights,
“Marlow is an amazing town, I’m so proud to be a part of it, and feel very much that it’s my home”
Arriva are extremely proud to be invited to assist Marlow and Tom with the launch of this year’s festive season, and thank them both for the opportunity.

Last summer, we were delighted to be awarded the contract from TfL to operate route W4 running from Oakthorpe Park Estate to Tottenham Ferry Lane estate, operating from Wood Green garage.
As part of our commitment to developing our business, we invest heavily in training for all of our staff to offer the great customer experience. We also look at other ways in which we can develop our relationships with the communities we serve, and allow them the opportunity of learning about our processes and to meet some of the team.
Over the past few months we have been working with TfL, conducting Accessibility Awareness forums at our garages.
Doing the right thing, one of our four brand values, is what we have been doing for the last six years by encouraging all of our employees to give to their favourite charities through our Payroll Giving scheme - during this time, they have given more than £1,000,000 pounds to over 160 charities.
